CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Another game room in our area has been raided by authorities who say its employees were running an illicit, illegal gambling operation.
Detectives with CCPD's Narcotics and Vice Investigations Division discovered more than $144,000 in cash and multiple illegal gambling devices at the Prime-Time Game Room on Oakhurst Drive this past Monday.
Seven employees were arrested, and 22 patrons were cited for gambling, which is a class C misdemeanor, according to CCPD.
Those employees were hit with a slew of charges, including gambling promotion and organized criminal activity.
NVID previously raided the same location in April of 2023.
It is illegal to patronize game rooms that pay out cash rewards, per the department. If you work do business of support the game room, authorities say you, along with managers, might be subject to criminal charges.
CCPD said the investigation will continue.
