CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The newest Raising Canes location opened its doors in Portland on Tuesday.
The first 100 customers received a Raising Canes hat with Portland, Texas stitched on it.
They also got a card for a four piece combo for their next visit in honor of the restaurant chain opening.
Restaurant leader, Kelsey McNauhton, said since the opening of the location in Corpus Christi people have been eagerly awaiting another one.
"The Corpus Christi location opened five and half years ago and I would say they've been asking for a second restaurant since five and half years ago," McNauhton said. "It's been just so busy and they've been needing another location and I know a lot of people from Corpus are coming over here as well as the surrounding areas but we're just so excited to be in Portland in general and being around this amazing community."
The new Portland location held a block party Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m., were they had a drawing to select 20 people to win free Raising Canes for an entire year.
