CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Salvation Army-Coastal Bend announced its annual 'Fans for Friends' collection will take place Friday to help provide some relief for residents trying to beat the heat.
The collection is scheduled to happen from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Walmart parking lot on Greenwood Drive.
The nonprofit is hoping to hand out 500 fans at the giveaway set for sometime in early July.
They are also accepting monetary donations or new fans in boxes to help them reach their goal.
