CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man who reportedly attacked and choked a San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office deputy is in an area hospital Friday after he was shot by another deputy.
Sheriff Oscar Rivera said his deputies responded to a call of a causing a disturbance in a Mathis store.
The store owner called authorities for help, and when deputies arrived and confronted the suspect, he got a hold of one of the deputies' batons and attacked them with it.
Another deputy sent to the store shot that suspect.
He was eventually arrested and taken to an area hospital.
The Texas Rangers are now investigating.
