CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Police released new information regarding a fatal shooting they began investigating early Friday morning.
Corpus Christi Police Department officers were called out to the 2600 block of Buford Street, near 23rd Street, at about 12:29 a.m. in response to a shooting, where they found an 18-year-old man dead in the street.
In an update released just before 4 p.m. Friday, police said four separate victims arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds not long after police received the initial call about the shooting.
Of those four individuals, police said a 15-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police said a 20-year-old man sustained life threatening injuries, and two 19-year-olds, a man and a woman, sustained non-life threatening injuries.
At the initial scene Friday morning, robbery/homicide detectives were called out and witnesses were interviewed in order to determine what happened, according to CCPD Public Information Sr. Officer Antonio Contreras.
The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the 18-year-old's body.
