CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — 10:30 AM Update:
Officers arrived and found that nine vehicles were involved in the crash that shut temporarily closed several lanes Tuesday morning, per CCPD. One person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
The department said that all involved vehicles were traveling westbound in the right lane when traffic slowed to a stop. The first vehicle stopped; but the eight vehicles behind it were all following too closely and a chain reaction occurred.
No citations were issued at this time.
The highway was shut down for approximately one hour while officers worked to clear the roadway.
