CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — On Wednesday county officials broke ground on the Nueces County Sunrise Pond Nature & Storytime Walking Trail Project over at Robstown's Keach Family Library.
The project promises to beautify an already bustling part of Robstown with a few upgrades, like a half-mile "Story Walk Trail," improved lighting and seating areas, even a little pier for folks to take in the sights of the pond!
It all comes from federal funding that Nueces County Commissioner John Marez says was a community effort that'll pay off in big ways for both citizens of Robstown and visitors from outside counties.
"It's Kleberg County, it's Jim Wells County, it's all over people are coming and traveling here for the resources that we offer, and just the beauty that we have, and it's just gonna enhance that, so I'm excited about it, it can't happen fast enough for me," Marez said.
Officials said families can also look forward to the addition of what's called a "sensory playground," a mindfully designed playground that can be enjoyed by all kids with all levels of ability.
