CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —
The Texas State Aquarium is extending their hours for spring break.
The extended hours at the aquarium are part of the spring break run and will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This week helps set the projection for what the summer tourist season will be like for the faculty.
"So it's a really critically important week for us,” said CEO of the Texas State Aquarium, Jesse Gilbert. “But I think it's a really a great week to showcase the aquarium and the Coastal Bend. We want to make sure that Texans and those people visiting from other states that come here have a great time and so it's a vitally important week for us and really sets the tone for the rest of the year”
Gilbert said that they see about 10% of their overall annual visitors during spring break.
Part of the spring break fun is the new H-E-B splash pad along with a new 4-D movie, 'Turtle Odyssey’.
