CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Trial for Ruben Trevino, accused of shooting and killing 48-year-old Carlos Vasquez in 2021, has been set for August.
The trial for this case was pushed twice before settling on the August date with Trevino's attorneys asking 117th District Court Judge Susan Barclay for continuance a second time earlier this month.
The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. on August 4, 2021, near The Palace in The Market Shopping Center parking lot on Everhart Road.
Trevino turned himself into police five days after the shooting.
