CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Two people are dead and two people were taken to a local hospital after a car crashed into a truck outside of Sinton on State Hwy. 89 near the US Hwy. 77 entrance ramp, said DPS public information Sgt. Harold 'Rob' Mallory on Saturday afternoon.
The elderly couple was identified Monday as Morris and Patricia Vaughn, and the two people who were treated at a local hospital are Lisa Farago and Al Saenz.
Mallory said the crash was reported at 2:26 p.m. after a 90-year-old Llano man and his 88-year-old wife in a 1992 Chevrolet Caprice were traveling southbound on US Hwy 77. The collision happened after the man failed to yield to a Ford F-150 traveling eastbound on State Hwy. 89.
He hit the truck, and both vehicles were thrown onto the grassy area next to the Hwy. 77 South access road.
The 32-year-old driver and her 31-year-old male passenger were brought to a Corpus Christi hospital for treatment. Mallory said both were stable and are from Beeville.
