U.S. survey shows that 1 in 3 Americans will skip giving holiday gifts this year due to inflation

Now Black Friday isn't the only day to find deals. If you prefer to stay in the comfort of your own home while you shop, Cyber Monday is just a few days away.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —

Some shoppers in Corpus Christi got a head start on their Christmas shopping, but not without paying the price.

"A lot of stuff is fluctuating and all that. Everything has gone up. Everything is more expensive, and nothing is really cheap anymore," said La Palmera mall shopper Micheal Jimenez

According to a survey by Wallet Hub, this year 1 in 3 Americans will be foregoing gifts due to inflation. The survey, including consumers from across the U.S., shows that 1 in 4 people still have holiday debt from last year.

With prices on the rise, shoppers at La Palmera mall said that they're doing their best this Black Friday to find the best deals.

"I'm out here with my girls and I'm just looking for some great deals, doing some Christmas shopping. We set a budget every year and go by that budget and see what we can find, So far, so good. We're having a lot of luck here at the mall," said shopper Misty Coleman.

Shopper Harold Garner spent this Black Friday shopping with his son who was home for Thanksgiving break.

"We're finding good deals. The only thing that was hard to find was a parking spot. Basically, I just go out when I need to, buy things when I need to, not to when I want to. I stick within my budget," Garner said.

Mayor Pro Tem of Kansas City, Ryana Parks-Shaw spent her Thanksgiving holiday in Corpus Christi with her family and did some of her Holiday shopping at La Palmera Mall. She says she's seen firsthand how rising costs have affected her city.

"Well, you know, being Black Friday, we know we would experience some good sales and some great discounts and so we wanted to make sure we did our part to help flourish the economy in Corpus Christi, Texas," Parks-Shaw said. "You know, people have been impacted by inflation and things like that, but I'm surprised to say there are a lot of people out spending money today."

Now Black Friday isn't the only day to find deals this holiday season. If you prefer to stay in the comfort of your own home while you shop, Cyber Monday is just a few days away.

So, if you're looking to save, it may be a good idea to make a list of what you're looking to buy on your favorite sites - on the second biggest shopping day of the year.
