The folks at the U.S.S Lexington celebrated Veterans Day with their Annual Salute to Veterans ceremony Saturday afternoon.
The museum held a tribute leading up to the ceremony, which was followed by a wreath laying. Of course, it would not be a Veterans Day event without the Veterans Band of Corpus Christi!
Museum executive director Steve Banta said they want to honor veterans every day, adding there is no better place to have the ceremony than in the Corpus Christi area.
"Really in this community in south Texas in Corpus Christi there's such great support for the military, great support for veterans," said Banta.
"It's a real honor to get to have the ceremony. A lot of people came out in spite of the weather, and it was a good tribute for everyone."
All veterans and military active duty and reserve have free admission to the ship this weekend to thank them for their service.
