CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — History lovers in the community gathered to celebrate the annual Dan Kilgore Award Presentation.
Organizers say the award is named after Dan Kilgore, an outstanding historian from our area.
That's why his name was chosen 20 years ago when the Nueces County Historical Society decided to recognize historians right here in Corpus Christi.
Dotson Lewis was honored Tuesday night at the ceremony.
The 96-year-old is a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and he's still serving his community after all this time.
