CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — City of Corpus Christi leaders recognized those who have served our nation Monday morning at the annual Veterans Day ceremony at Sherrill Park.
Residents gathered to remember and honor those who served our country, some even brought pictures of service men and women who are no longer with us.
Veteran Richard Quijas told 3NEWS about his brother who was also a served our country, Jesús Quijas. He said during his service Jesús was not only burned, but also shot and paralyzed.
Richard spoke about remembering him today.
"It's everybody's nightmare when your brother comes back all wounded and hurt, but at least he came back alive," he said. "God gave him 40 more years to live."
All of us at 3NEWS thank our local veterans for every sacrifice made for our country.
