CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Early voting is just four days away and a reminder tonight that in Nueces County there is a new way you'll be voting.
It's one extra step where you will be given a piece of ballot paper to feed into the ballot machine before you vote. Nueces County clerk Kara Sands tells us this will give you the chance to double check and verify your vote before submitting it.
One thing to keep in mind is that you cannot take that ballot paper with you.
"You can't leave with it you have to go to the scanner and you'll scan that in because that is your vote. So, one of the biggest reminders is, don't take the ballot paper with you because that is your vote. Do not leave with that ballot paper ," Sands said.
Early voting begins Monday and runs through Friday, November 1.
The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is one week from Friday to October 25.
Election day is Tuesday, November 5.
