Water boil issued for parts of western Nueces County

Tierra Grande, La Paloma and Lost Creek are some of the areas affected.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A water boil notice was issued for residents in western Nueces County on Thursday.

This includes customers around Tierra Verde, Lost Creek, Rancho Banquete and La Paloma areas and other customers who are served by the Central, Sablatura Park, Agua Dulce and Banquete pump stations.

The Nueces Water Supply Corporation issued a news release Thursday saying a storage tank rupture caused a water supply outage, and that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality issued the water boil order.

NWSC also is said it's working with the South Texas Water Authority to remedy the problem.

Residents are being advised to boil and cool water being used for drinking, cooking and ice making, or use bottled water.
