CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Students at West Oso Elementary School got to be a part of a fun unveiling of their new playground that was presented to them today.
The school held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a brand new playground that was generously donated by the TND Family Foundation.
The new inclusive playground is designed with modern play structures that promote physical activity, social interaction and the overall well-being of children.
Nora Dobson with the foundation said this is just phase one of what is to come.
"When we moved 15 years ago, we did not desert Corpus Christi the Dobson’s are still here,” Dobson said. “Hugh and Ann are still living in Corpus Christi as part of this community and they have a foundation also and they are going to help with phase two and possibly phase three to make this elaborate.”
Superintendent Kimberly Moore said this is just the beginning as they are working on getting a second playground at the school, expanding access to children with disabilities.
