CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Teachers and students with Flour Bluff ISD got to participate in the canal connection project at the Whitecap Preserve
The project in partnership with LJA Engineering, Whitecap NPL and IBC bank, allowed the students to observe and learn directly from people in the careers they wish to join.
The future engineers gained a unique perspective on the importance of partnership as well as ecology.
Flour Bluff ISD Superintendent Chris Steinbruck said his goal for students who attended the event was for them to ask questions and not be afraid to voice their concerns, as well as see people in the career field they aspire to be in one day.
"Flour Bluff ISD was just excited that we were able allow the easement agreement to allow the canal connection and then to be able to see and show our students the work out here today it's been a great experience for all of our students out here," Steinbruck said.
The project is expected to be completed within the next month.
