CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — No. 3 London rallied back from a 4 hour and 40 minute, 13-inning marathon loss Thursday to punch its ticket to the state tournament on Saturday.
The Pirates began the day with a 14-1, 5-inning run-rule win over the Jersey Bulls to tie the series in Game 2 and a 9-3 win in Game 3.
Game 3 looked like it was going to be more of the same, with London taking a 4-0 lead into the fourth inning, but Falfurrias woke up with an RBI double by Markey Gonzalez and a two-RBI single by Andre Cisneros in the bottom of the fifth to make it interesting.
The Pirates put two more runs on the board in the sixth, putting the game out of reach and added on three more in the top of the seventh for good measure.
