CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — An messy, 13-inning win is still a win.
Falfurrias won 4-3 after a London catcher's interference gave the Jersey Bulls the Game 1 Class 3A regional best-of-three win Thursday at Whataburger Field.
London took the lead at the top of the 13th inning on a wild pitch, but Falfurrias drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs to tie the game.
As batter Bryan Ramirez began moving through his swing, London catcher Christian Olivares raised his glove anticipating the ball. The bat hit the tip of the glove, knocking it off, essentially giving the Jersey Bulls a walk-off win.
The series continues Saturday at 5 p.m. at Whataburger Field, and Game 3 would follow 30 minutes later, if necessary.
