The Miller Buccaneers are getting ready to go back to the UIL State Quarterfinal, and Wednesday,
the mayor of Corpus Christi was at the school to offer her support.
Paulette Guajardo stopped in at the Bucs’ practice – they’re 13-0, by the way to wish them luck in Friday’s game.
"I feel so much pride in sending off our Miller Bucs,” she said. “We're so proud of them. They’ve had a stellar season, and, ya know, I just reminded them that the city of Corpus Christi is behind them. We're going to be praying for them, and hopefully they have a victory -- but nonetheless, they’ve had a stellar season and we're proud of our Miller Bucs."
That game will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Brownsville Sams Memorial Stadium.
