CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A mother and daughter are listed in stable condition on Friday after being involved in a serious accident near Skidmore, per DPS.
They, along with their father, son and another driver were all sent to area hospitals Thursday after colliding on an area highway.
The later three were all discharged form CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Beeville Thursday night.
The accident happened at around 1:15 p.m. when a man, woman, and their son and daughter were driving toward Skidmore in their Ford F-150 eastbound down State Hwy. 359 at 181 when the truck's GPS advised them to turn, said Texas Department of Public Safety Public Information Sgt. Harold "Rob" Mallory.
As they did, a Ram truck heading westbound, turning off of 181 and onto 359, hit them.
Mallory said the man, who was driving the F-150, did not leave enough time to make the turn cleanly.
The woman, who was in the passenger seat, was pinned and had to be extricated and medevaced to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Shoreline. Her daughter also was brought to Corpus Christi.
The father, son and the driver of the Ram were all taken to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Beeville and were later discharged Thursday night.
All drivers were alert and talking when they were taken for treatment, Mallory said.
The accident shut down Hwy. 181 for at least an hour.
