Sandbag distribution locations for Corpus Christi, Robstown

In preparation for the heavy rain that is expected to impact the Coastal Bend, sandbag distribution sites will be opened on Sept. 19.

ROBSTOWN, Texas — According to the latest weather data, Tropical Storm Beta has formed in the Gulf of Mexico. There is a chance that it will develop into a hurricane somewhere along the Texas Gulf Coast by early next week. 

The City of Corpus Christi will be handing out sandbags at the two locations listed below to prepare for the heavy rain expected to impact the Coastal Bend.

Officials with the city said residents can receive 10 sandbags maximum per vehicle. Drivers and passengers must have masks and are to remain inside of the vehicle while crews load up the bags. 

Corpus Christi 

  • Date: Saturday, Sept. 19
  • Time: 9 a.m. until sandbags are out
  • Locations (2):
    • Bill Witt Park - 6869 Yorktown Boulevard
    • J.C. Elliott Transfer Station and Collection Center, Highway 286 and Ayers Street. 

Robstown

  • Date: Saturday, Sept. 19
  • Time: 9 a.m. until sandbags are gone
  • Location: Ave J, Robstown, TX, USA

Officials with Robstown said four sandbags will be allowed per household. There will also be one entrance and one exit, according to the city. 

The City of Robstown along with Nueces County Drainage District No. 2 will be distributing sandbags tomorrow. 🗓...
