CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The UT-Marine Science Institute's Amos Rehabilitation Keep is set to release 70 green sea turtles Tuesday morning.
This will take place at the Tony Amos Beach at mile marker 35.
This comes after hundreds of turtles were taken in along the Gulf coast from the recent freeze.
The release site will be near Access Road 1, and the event begins at 11.
And as cold-stunned turtles are returned to the wild, local facilities which had been closed in order to focus on their rehabilitation will begin re-opening.
The Texas State Aquarium's Center for Wildlife Rescue is reopening to the public beginning Saturday.
Normal operating hours are from noon-four on Saturdays and Sundays.
