CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas State Aquarium is keeping 24 cold-stunned green sea turtles warm thanks to Coastal Bend community members who found them.
Aquarium official said the turtles – which were found in the upper Laguna Madre -- were admitted into their rescue center, where they are drying off and warming up.
We do know one of them was active enough to return into the water Tuesday night.
If you do happen to see one, call 1 (866) TURTLE5.
Experts recommend to not put turtles you find back in the water yourself, as the cold water could be very dangerous for them.
