CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The city of Falfurrias has rescinded a water boil notice that went into effect on Thursday of this week.
"The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes," reads a statement that was shared with 3NEWS.
The city also posted notice of the lifted water boil advisory to Facebook shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday.
The statement says that Falfurrias has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling before use as of May 25, 2024.

Falfurrias went into the second day of its citywide water boil Friday.
That water boil started Thursday, after reports of e-coli detected at a home on the city's West Side.
Several businesses have had to close off their fountain-drink stations because of that water boil, which came at the instruction of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
City officials said Friday they are working to determine where, exactly, the bacteria came from.
"People always think the worst, but airborne pathogens are present in the water,” said city of Falfurrias utilities director Ramon Rodriguez. “That's possible that’s what happened."
So far, samples taken around the city have tested negative, and secondary samples from that same home have also tested negative.
