17th annual Dia de los Muertos Festival happening this Saturday

The festival has grown from just one block in 2008, to more than a dozen.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The 17th Annual Dia de los Muertos Festival is finally here! It's happening this Saturday Oct. 26 from 3 p.m. to midnight in Downtown Corpus Christi. 

Since 2008, K Space Contemporary has helped Corpus Christi celebrate Dia de los Muertos through art and live entertainment.

Live music, vendors, food and art displays will be taking place all along Chaparral, Mesquite, Starr and Peoples Street. 

K Space Contemporary volunteer Omar Lopez joined First Edition Friday morning give viewers a sneak peek of the holiday inspired art exhibition that featured work from local students. 

The event will include a community ofrenda display in the former Ward Building featuring photos of community members' loved ones. Festival goers are encouraged to check out the display while artists Cantante de America Oscar y Letty perform to honor those who have passed.
