CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Two people died after being involved in a motorcycle accident in the 1500 block of Airline Road early Sunday morning.
Corpus Christi Police Department officers said a crash involving a motorcyclist and a truck was reported at 12:35 a.m., and when officers arrived, they found a 32-year-old man dead in the road with his motorcycle nearby.
His passenger, a 30-year-old woman, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries and also later died.
Their identities have not been released.
Police said the motorcycle was traveling south on Airline Road as the truck was traveling north and was attempting to turn west into a private driveway when the crash happened.
The truck failed to yield the right of way and hit the motorcycle.
The driver of the truck, 52-year-old Carmen Guevara, remained at the scene and was later transported to a local hospital, as well.
She was arrested and charged on two counts of intoxicated manslaughter.
