CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man is in jail after attempting to evade capture by breaking through a glass window and fleeing into the backyard of an Alice residence during a burglary on Tuesday.
David Uribe III was apparently found by drone earlier this week, according to the Alice Police Department after they responded to reports of a burglary in progress at a home in the 700 block of East Hill Street.
As officers arrived, they made entry into the home just as Uribe III began to flee. They pursued, but lost sight of him near Loma Street.
That's when the Criminal Investigation Division deployed a drone to assist in the search.
It quickly located the suspect, who was standing beside a home in the same neighborhood.
Uribe was then arrested without further incident before being taken to the Jim Wells County Jail, where he is being held pending charges.
The Alice Police Department thanked the Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department and Precinct 1 Constable Albert Martinez for their assistance.
