CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Taxes are going up in Alice but city salaries are not.
The city is raising the tax rate by 7.6 cents per $100 valuation.
That means if you own a $200,000 home, you will pay almost $150 more a year in city taxes.
The mayor tells 3NEWS they've kept the tax-rate flat for five years but just like us, costs for the city are going up.
Council expects this to bring in more than $200,000 a year in added revenue.
Much of that will help with road projects.
City workers won't see any extra money though. Their salaries remain unchanged.
