CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Police Department arrested the driver who they say hit a person on a moped at South Staples Street and SPID around midnight Thursday.
The man was identified as 29-year-old Ryan Aguilar. He now faces a charge of accident involving injury or death.
Witnesses said a woman was driving a moped under the overpass when a tan car hit her from behind, throwing the 32-year-old from the scooter.
The driver left the scene, and police later found the abandoned car.
The woman hit was taken to the hospital with injuries.
