CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Aransas Pass Police Chief Eric Blanchard confirmed his resignation from the department on Tuesday.
The law enforcement veteran said he plans to return to the Sinton Police Department, where he has spent most of his career before joining Aransas Pass PD. He will replace retiring Sinton Police Chief Eugene DeLeon, who announced his retirement from the department earlier this year after 37 years of service to the community.
Blanchard's last day with APPD will be on Jan. 3. He will start with Sinton PD on Jan. 6. Blanchard has been with Aransas Pass PD since 2012.
As of the 2020 census, Aransas Pass had a population of 7,941. Sinton had a population of 5,504.
