CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Even with Francine in the Gulf, beachgoers still made it out to the water at the South Packery Channel on Tuesday.
The tropical activity caused tall waves to crash against the jetties and increased the risk for rip currents.
3NEWS spoke to one family from Kerrville vacationing here.
"You can feel the tide pull you in," visitor Sheona York said. "We like to swim, we're ocean swimmers that's what we do. But, you can only go out so far before you feel it pulling you into the water, so you have to be real careful, hence the red flag."
The York family said they are making the most out of their vacation.
Be cautious if you plan to visit area beaches these next few days, have a buddy and remember safety first.
