Beach to Bay 2024: What closures you can expect for race day

Whether you are a runner, spectator or curious driver we know closures for the big day are on the top of your mind, so here's a quick look.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The 47th annual Beach to Bay is finally here! Take a quick look at changes you can expect on your commute along Saturday's race route.

As early as 4 a.m., lane closures and altered traffic will begin along Park Road 22, Intracoastal Bridge, JFK Causeway, NAS Drive, Ocean Drive and Shoreline Boulevard.

The intersection of Park Road 22 and Aquarius Street will be closed as well as the exits along SH 358 and Waldron Road, according to the City of Corpus Christi.

Other than these intersections closing, there will be no full road closures, only single lane closures for runners, according to CCPD.

The race officially kicks off at 7 a.m. on the beach near the intersection of Ellif Road and Access Road 5.

The finish line will be at McCaughan Park on Shoreline Drive.

Drivers can expect heavy traffic going to and from the Island, so be cautious and plan alternate routes if necessary. Be extra cautious for nearby runners.
