CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Beeville city leaders got together Thursday to speak of the community's accomplishments during the annual State of the City address.
One of the biggest items of discussion was the $14.5 million dollar wastewater project that's nearing completion.
The city also celebrated it's adoption of a strategic plan that focuses on housing and potential growth.
Mayor Brain Watson told 3NEWS that the city is getting closer to moving the police department into the old Dan Hughes Oil Company building.
"We're making renovations and moving in next spring, but we're excited for our police department if you go into their facility it's very cramped and they're very out of date so for them to have a good workable office space it's not only going to help them in their day-to-day lives it's going to serve the citizens better," Watson said.
The mayor also mentioned the city's economic development efforts that are going to be key to bringing more people and businesses to the city.
