CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Fire Department is mourning the loss of firefighter Mark Solis, who lost his battle to colon cancer Thursday.
Solis served the Corpus Christi community for 23 years, and worked out of fire stations No. 1, No. 3, No. 6, No. 10, and No.14.
“We are saddened at the loss of a brother firefighter,” said CCFD Chief Brandon Wade in a Facebook post. “Mark Solis fought courageously against cancer, embodying the spirit of dedication and sacrifice. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.”
Solis is survived by his wife and four children. Funeral information was not yet available.
Firefighter badges will be shrouded until after his funeral services.
