CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi ISD released a statement Wednesday, thanking voters for considering the $135 M Bond 2024 package that failed to pass on this November's election.
Roughly 62% of voters rejected the measure for school consolidations and upgrades.
The package would have included a new elementary campus, additional class and weight rooms for Veterans Memorial High School, a second gym at Haas Middle School and renovations at some of the district’s older campuses.
The proposal included $30 million to make interior renovations to King HS classrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, windows & more.
Moody High School’s restrooms, locker rooms and corridors would have also benefitted from the bond proposal.
Finally, the district proposed $3 million to help improve theater programs through new stage lighting, high school projectors & electronic screens.
