CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department made a total of 6 arrests Friday night in efforts to go after speeders, racers, and reckless drivers downtown.
Most of the races ended abruptly when the drivers noticed a police unit at a traffic light.
Since the beginning of the year, the nighttime traffic enforcement unit has made nearly 200 racing and reckless driving arrests, which includes impounding the vehicles involved.
Police have made their message clear that there will be no exceptions for reckless driving and racing.
