CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Four Corpus Christi Police Department Honor Guard members attended the Dallas Cowboys playoff game last Sunday, where they and hundreds of other emergency responders were honored as a part of the teams' First Responder Appreciation event.
The officers were invited to enjoy the game as guests of the Dallas Cowboys after joining their first responder colleagues on the field for pre-game festivities, and participating in a display that many were moved by, holding a giant United States Flag while the National Anthem played.
Corpus Christi Police Chief Mike Markle expressed his gratitude to Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys organization for "recognizing the everyday heroes that comprise Texas’s first responders."
Police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel from across Texas attended the game.
