CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Chick-fil-A located at 5929 Saratoga Boulevard will be closed all day Tuesday following the death of its operator Kevin Wade Sharp over the weekend.
Sharp died Saturday morning after a short battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease, also known as ALS. The franchise posted to Facebook saying they want employees to have the opportunity to pay their respects and celebrate Sharp's life.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Guardian Funeral Home in Corpus Christi at 10 a.m. Public visitation will be from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. His burial will take place at Duncan Cemetery in Flour Bluff at noon.
He requested that attendees dress casually and comfortably for the services.
In lieu of flowers, Kevin requested that all gifts be given to benefit Compassionate Care ALS.
An obituary for the late operator says that he will be most remembered by his friends and family as "compassionate, generous and a source of inspiration and encouragement." It continues, "He had a profound impact on and influenced so many lives in his community. He had amazing strength, was true to the Lord and a man of faith."
