CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Construction continues on Cole Park's brand new splash pad and playground.
The splash pad will include 23 water features and artificial turf for both children and families to enjoy.
Parks and Recreation Director Robert Dodd said the new 'play-for-all' playground will include a multigenerational playground, seating shades and improved ADA accessibility.
"Cole Park is one of our most highly visited and most visible parks that we have," Dodd said. "We have so many visitors that do come and take advantage of that area down there and I think this is just going to add to it, and it's going to add more visitors to our Cole Park area."
Weather permitting, the new splash pad and playground are both scheduled to open in late May.
