CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Corvette Club presented a $3,000 check Sunday to help assist the Nueces County Honor Guard.
The club presents a check every year to help give back to our local veterans.
All of the money was raised from a fundraiser back in November and goes towards uniform and travel expenses.
3NEWS asked the club's president, Tyrone Clark, how it feels to see the community's support year after year.
"I'm a 24-year vet and it's dear to my heart and I know what I had to go through myself being deployed out away from my family and so on, and then of course you have a organization like what we just presented a check to." Clark said. "They are the ones making sure those veterans have a proper burial who don't have a family, so it's the greatest feeling in the world."
Tony Acevedo, a commander of the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery shared his gratitude for the Corvette Club.
"Corvette Club always comes through for us, the community show us a whole bunch of care for us, care for our veterans and we can't thank them enough," Acevedo said.
Coming up this November the Corvette Club will have another fundraiser at Little Woodrow's to raise even more funds to present to our veterans and they are encouraging the whole community and car enthusiasts to come out and show their support.
