CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 34-year-old man was in critical condition at a local hospital Thursday morning after police say an intoxicated driver hit him from behind near the Ayers and Gollihar intersection just after 3:30 a.m.
Adrian Perez has been arrested for Intoxication Assault and an out-of-county warrant for a probation violation.
Witnesses told Corpus Christi Police Department officers that they saw a red truck hit this victim early Thursday morning, leaving him with serious injuries.
Police were able to look at nearby security cameras, where they saw the suspected vehicle leaving the area. They eventually found it just a few blocks away from the scene of the crash. Police say the front end of the truck was damaged.
Officers later found Perez and placed him under arrest. He was transported to a local hospital to be checked out. He was later transported to the city detention Center for booking.
