CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Tonight a Gregory-Portland native is celebrating his big break in Hollywood back at home!
Santiago Villalobos got his start in acting after a stint in the military with his first gig stemming from a casting call he found out about through our Domingo Live!
It's been a long road for the actor who now finds himself with a pivotal role in the border crisis drama "The Absence of Eden."
Santiago stopped by 3NEWS studios before tonight's big premiere saying that filming alongside a cast of big-time actors has been a surreal experience especially working so closely with Zoe Saldana.
"She brought it and I could feel her energy and I love that in an actor cause I've been in some films where I just didn't feel it but with her I was nervous," Villalobos said. "In the movie you can't tell I'm nervous, but I had to put that 'I'm the cartel guy' you know, but inside I was shaking like 'I'm with Zoe Saldana!'"
Congratulations Santiago!
