CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — On Friday the Texas State Aquarium and Driscoll Children's Hospital teamed up for a special reunion event to recognize National Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness Month, giving new and former patients a chance to have fun and make friends.
The event was also an opportunity for children to see nurses and doctors in a different setting, one much more fun and exciting than a hospital or clinic!
Parents got a chance to network and share experiences with each other as they all caught up with Driscoll staff members who left a lasting impact on their families.
"Even though we went through something traumatic with Luke, we're not alone it's nice to come back and revisit it, you know, talk with the doctors and nurses," one parent said. "The doctors and nurses provide an experience like no other his surgery was three years ago and they still remember everything about him."
Driscoll leaders told 3NEWS the event was just as meaningful to them.
