CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A house on Jose Drive suffered significant damage after catching fire Friday morning.
No one was in the Molina-neighborhood home at the time, and no injuries were reported -- however, two dogs were rescued.
The call came in 4:45 a.m. and was contained within 15 minutes, Corpus Christi Fire Department Asst. Chief Billy Belyeu told 3NEWS on Friday afternoon.
While the fire’s control time was fairly short, firefighters said Friday morning's early, dense fog made it difficult for crews to respond.
Heavy fire and smoke was spotted in the back of the home and Belyeu said the fire started outside, but couldn’t say whether the fire started in the yard or on the house’s exterior.
Firefighters estimated damage of about $25,000-$50,000 to the house and about $10,000-$25,000 to the contents inside the house.
