'Flavors of the Coastal Bend' raises funds for culinary arts students

Money raised from the annual event will go toward funding scholarships for Coastal Bend high school and Del Mar College culinary arts students.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Many delicious dishes were served up at Del Mar College's Oso Creek Campus on Tuesday for the third annual 'Flavors of the Coastal Bend!'

The fan-favorite event known for showcasing local cuisine and talent in our area was hosted by the Coastal Bend chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association.

Money raised will go toward funding scholarships for Coastal Bend high school and Del Mar College culinary arts students.

Chair of Flavors of the Coastal Bend, Merida May Mendoza said the opportunity to brighten the futures of students in our area is something to celebrate.

"Really excited to be involved in the community and giving back especially here at Del Mar College with their beautiful new culinary department that they have here at the Oso Creek Campus," Mendoza said. "It's just first notch and it's really nice to have something like that here in Corpus Christi."
