CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Go Team Therapy Dogs arrived at Corpus Christi Police Department headquarters Wednesday night as the news broke of Ofc. Kyle Hicks' death.
The team is non-profit group of volunteers, dedicated to providing comfort and caring through the K-9 and human bond.
They were there in hopes of bringing *relief to those grieving the loss of the late officer.
“We are Go Team Therapy Dogs,” said volunteer Erika Torres. “We go to schools, hospitals, nursing homes. We also go to crisis events, just to provide support and some comfort for the people that may be having a tough time and need something to cope with. With the new developments, of course, we’re even more apt to come out and spread love. We’ve got six dogs right now, coming out, just to go in and help with the CC Metrocom (dispatchers) that took the call and all that from the event.”
The Go Team pups are trained and certified therapy dogs.
