Gov. Abbott selects CCFD Fire Chief Brandon Wade for Texas commission

While on the commission, he'll work to enhance the Texas Fire Service by assisting with certification, training and safety for firefighters.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Fire Department Chief Brandon Wade received special recognition from the state after his work for our city's department caught the attention of Gov. Abbott when looking to fill a spot as part of a prestigious commission.

"The Texas Fire Chief's Association provided a recommendation and I was very humbled that they put my name forward and then the governor through his selections selected me to be a commissioner for the state of Texas," Wade said.

He will serve out the term he was selected to fill and could be re-appointed by Abbott for a new term.

While on the commission, he'll work to enhance the Texas Fire Service by assisting with certification, training and safety for firefighters, as well as taking care of local communities and the state as a whole.
