CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Leon Taylor Middle School teacher Suzanne Kilburn was awarded a check for $2,500 from Sparklight's 'Dream Bigger' contest for her success in STEM education.
3NEWS spoke with one of her students, Dezi Cordova, who said she is one of the best teachers he's ever met and he has learned a lot from her
"I think they feel great because she is a good teacher, and I believe that they would feel good about her receiving the check," Cordova said. "I think that her receiving the check will also help future people get STEM education and that will further help them in life if they ever get a STEM job."
This is the sixth annual contest Sparklight has had so far and Kilburn was one of just six teachers to receive this honor from them!
